Cookie Policy
Last updated 2 October 2026
This Cookie Policy explains how Mazi Properties ("we", "us", "our") uses cookies and similar technologies on our website. It should be read with our Privacy Policy and is intended to operate in line with the Nigeria Data Protection Act, 2023 (NDPA) and the guidance of the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC).
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They let a website recognise your device, keep you signed in and remember information between page loads. Session cookies are temporary and normally disappear when you close your browser; persistent cookies stay for a set period or until you delete them.
2. The cookie we use
Mazi Properties currently sets one cookie of its own:
| Name | Purpose | Type and duration |
|---|---|---|
| mazi_sid | Strictly necessary session cookie. It keeps you signed in as you move between pages, makes forms work and helps protect forms against forged requests. | Session cookie: no expiry date, so it ends when you close your browser. On our side a session also expires after 2 hours of inactivity or 24 hours in total. It is set as HttpOnly (not readable by page scripts), SameSite=Lax, and Secure when you use HTTPS. |
Because this cookie is strictly necessary for the service you request, it does not need your consent. If you block it, you will not be able to sign in or submit forms.
3. Cookies we do not use
We do not currently set analytics, advertising, tracking or preference cookies, and we do not use Google Analytics, advertising networks or social-media tracking pixels. We measure usage with our own first-party statistics (for example property page views and advert impressions and clicks) stored in our own database; see the Privacy Policy. If we ever introduce cookies that are not strictly necessary, we will update this policy and ask for your consent first where the law requires it.
4. Third-party content
Some pages load content from other providers, and those providers may set their own cookies or receive your IP address and browser details when their content loads:
- Maps: listings that have a map pin show an OpenStreetMap frame (or a Google Maps frame if we have enabled Google as the map provider).
- Payments: when you pay, you may be taken to or shown our payment provider's payment screen, which is governed by its own privacy and cookie policies.
- Links: share and contact buttons (for example WhatsApp, Facebook, X) are ordinary links and load nothing from those services unless you click them.
We do not control these providers' cookies. Please see their own policies.
5. Managing cookies in your browser
Most browsers let you see, block and delete cookies, or warn you before one is stored. Blocking the session cookie will stop sign-in and forms from working. The way to do this differs between browsers, so check your browser's help pages.
6. Your rights
Where cookie-related information is personal data, you have the rights described in the Privacy Policy, including the right to complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC).
7. Changes to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy when our website, technology or the law changes. The "Last updated" date at the top of the page shows the current version.
